Hardwood can be saved — if you move fast
When hardwood gets wet, the boards swell and the edges lift. That cupping looks permanent, but it often is not. With fast extraction and specialized floor drying mats that pull moisture from between the boards, many floors flatten back out as they dry.
The window is short. Call (301) 679-9193 the same day the floor gets wet for the best chance of saving it.
When floors cannot be saved
If water sat for days, or sewage was involved, boards may be too far gone. We will take moisture readings and give you a straight answer — dry it or replace it — instead of charging you to dry a floor that will never come back.
Never sand cupped floors while they are still wet. Sanding has to wait until the wood is fully dry, or you will ruin the floor permanently.
